What is the Future of Finance?
Financial Futures is a feedback solution for fundraising campaigns to communicate with their contributors. The product is envisaged to serve as a donation point as well as to replace traditional fundraising ‘thermometers’. It uses holograms to display in real time progress made towards reaching a specific fundraising goal.
In this digital world where currency has also reached a level of virtuality, how can financial transactions be magical?
Visualising the school building in progress through holographic projection
We chose to focus on the invisible nature of finance and how can that bring magic into one's life. The aspect of Donations was intriguing and the nature being wholehearted yet invisible.
CONTEXT
"Under a glass terrarium lives the miniature holographic model of a dream : a new school for a country where it is much needed. "
In this project, we explored how to visualize the process of giving donations and how it contributes to the final goal.
As the community contributes by tapping a credit card or phone they see the subject of their dream grow and take shape. 'Financial Future' brings the fundraising jar to life as a dynamic, living hologram. Making the invisible transactions visible and encouraging participation.

DIRECTION
What if visualising donations, encourages the cause and assures that your financial contribution has made an impact.?
Giving Financial Transactions a visual medium, which dynamically form as the cause progresses.We built a visual depiction in a non-provocative medium.
IDEATION AND BRAINSTORMING
Below are some of the ideas generated by me ,which were further built upon .Building on this, we visualised the medium that donations can be seen as you make them , encouraging more donations from a community based effort.
Similarly, it provides a focal point for community development projects and a medium to illustrate the potential impact of people working together for a common goal.
CONCEPT
Each time a donation is made the holographic rendering of the final goal will automatically develop, in line with the relative amount of the donation. This can help donors visualize the impact of their individual contribution.
PROCESS
The tapping of the card; generated sequential steps to the completion of the school building. The construction used Arduino Uno and Processing sketch for the holographic display.
The initial holograms were prototyped using single moving images.
The hologram structure was built using a tetrahedron; on which the images were projected.The challenge was to highlight the holographic image.
PROTOTYPES
A lot of prototypes were built to get the holographic tetrahedron perfected.Iterating on the size and angle.
FINAL CONCEPT The The final prototype developed out of the team’s interest in exploring extreme variances in scale of an interaction. Small, enclosed spaces that represent a miniature world of their own offered the potential for rich interactions. The desired impact is to create an environment that delights people and inspires them to engage in shaping this world together.
WORKING of the prototype Each tap of card, covers the light sensor , and progresses the processing sketch with video. The projected images are displayed onto the tetrahedron creating a hologram.
EXHIBIT
The project was exhibited at the Trailer Park I/O Festival,2015 . It validated the concept of visualising transactions and its impact as it evoked public participation for donating for the cause.
